Pastor James Perry Jr. was born in Charlotte, NC to Pastor James Perry Sr. and the late Mother Perry. He then moved to Clopton, Alabama at the age of 5 where he was raised. Pastor Perry came to know the Lord at an early age along with his 7 sisters and 2 brothers. He was taught the principles of love and unity under his father at The United Church of God. Pastor Perry came to South Carolina in 1990 on a basketball scholarship to Lander University where he graduated in 1994 with a B.S Degree in Political Science and met his wife 1st Lady Lisa Perry. They have been married for 22 years and the Lord has blessed them with 3 talented gifted boys Jamekole, Samuel and Jonathan.

Pastor Perry joined Mt. Sinai in 1994 under the covering and leadership of Bishop Terry McCaskill. He served as a youth minister and an ordained Elder in various locations. He served faithfully for 18 years. Pastor Perry has been preaching for over 15 years and has been a blessing to so many people. God has given him a heart for the people to empower families, youth, and the men and women of God through the word of God.

Pastor James Perry believes in unity, education and developing the whole person. He received his Masters in Management & Leadership from Webster University in December 2012. God has blessed him to connect with kingdom builders with kingdom agendas and assignments. He works with many non-profit organizations to help empower the people. First Family

He volunteers his time to coach basketball at different levels to give the young men a positive impact in the community.

In 2009 God gave Pastor Perry a vision and assignment to begin Empowerment Worship Center to inspire, motivate, and empower everyone through the Word of God. The Lord has given him a heart for the people to help them embrace their gift and fulfill purpose. God has given him a Kingdom Agenda to help unite the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-20). Pastor Perry believes according to the word that we must have love for one another. Empowerment Worship Center has been birthed to empower the individual from a spiritual, economical, financial, social, physical, and emotional perspective. Therefore the person can be made whole with the power of Jesus Christ.
